This particular Creative Cart comes at a time just following the release of an exciting new version of Daz Studio - DS 4.23

Yes, there's FilaToon, which is amazing - and we'll take a look at that. But along with FilaToon came an incredible advancement of the Filament Draw Options, which can truly take our working experience to a whole new level - as I'll be demonstrating in this episode!

Saturday, October 26 - check the Event Page for more Details!

Event Times:

As a Special Treat for the Creative Cart audience, I've put together a nice little "Helper Pack" to help my demonstrate how we can use Filament for much more than the awesome new FilaToon.

Here's the special Light Preset that I'll be demonstrating during the show

You may download it HERE >>> Dartanbeck's Filament Lighting Presets

Creative Cart meets Smart Content!

Our good friend, TugPSX, has put together a very nice demonstration on how we can make All of our assets that coincide with The Creative Cart easily findable via the Smart Content system within Daz Studio.

Check it out!

...and Thanks TugPSX!

Creature Transformation

When I mentioned my idea of doing a Creature Transformation, Kagiso lept from his spot in my library eager for the opportunity.

When someone like Kagiso, by the extraordinary artist, Javier Michael, is that enthusiastic, there's no saying no!

He did an excellent job, I think. He had to pump a lot of iron to pull it off!

With the idea of doing such a stunt, I just had to use RawArt's amazing Snow Beast as the creature. So Cool!!!

And I love all of his options!!!

Nostalgic CG Backdrops

We'll take a look at both Hunter's Moon and On A Certain Night, by LaurieS

Both of these gems are stunning backdrops that have been made for use with both the Multiplane Cyclorama and The Millennium Environment - see below

These magnificent scene stages are an absolute joy to work with. It's been a  Long Time since I have - being among some of the first products I've ever bought from Daz 3D. It is a Joy to use them again!

Both Multiplane Cyclorama and the Millennium Environment were made by Stonemason as an ingenious way to load and use backdrop environments at a time when computers were far less capable of loading lots and lots of weighty assets.

Both use various layers with transparencies to allow for added depth - fog, clouds, lighting effects, added details, etc., and come with nice presets to get started.

Multiplane Cyclorama is a vignette-style prop while Millennium Environment wraps into a 180 degree version to allow for animated camera movement.

There are a mutitude of addons for them - most are for both of them in the same pack. Some that were made for Millennium Environment also elevate the height of the backdrop itself for even more expansive views.

Enter Magix 101

While we're checking out the above backdrop kits using the new enhancements to the Filament Draw Options, we'll also load in a Gothic City Night scene, which comes in the Super Pak expansion to Magix 101's Iray Worlds.

Iray Worlds is a different style of environment that comes with a multitude of options right out of the box.

The Super Pak expansion takes this whole thing even further!

HDR Magic

We'll also explore some fun ways to work with the HDR Images that we can load into Iray's Environment Dome.

I'll be focusing on the more spooky options I have - or at least ones that can cause that uneasy feeling when used as a backdrop for our scenes.

These are the two kits by JDA HDRI that hold the examples that I'll be using.

And they are Excellent!

And what would Halloween be without taking a look at using some of Josh Crockett's wonderful Monstrous Creations?!!!

I just can't help myself!

Here are a few that we'll see during the show

We'll shred Kagiso's shirt as he transforms into the Beast using the New Geometry Sculptor tool in the New Studio Premier

Similar techniques can also be achieved using the Mesh Grabber Bundle as well - in case you're not a Premier Member

For what I do, the Daz Premier tier of Membership pays itself off almost immediately - especially with the Studio Premier upgrade

I've barely scratched the surface with these new tools - and I'm already ecstatic with this new service!

Thanks Again, Daz 3D!!!
