Have a Question? Just Ask!

I love to help others as best I can. This is a rather broad topic: CG Filmmaking, so my articles on any particular topic may not answer your specific question.

Most of the questions directed to me are regarding Carrara or How did I do this?

For these sorts of things, post your question at the Carrara Discussion Forum (or another appropriate category) at Daz 3D.com forums, and if I don't see it right away, someone else might. They are such a friendly and helpful bunch! I've learned so much from that forum over the years!

Best viewed on Loop (right-click during playback), this is a very low-resolution test render using PrimiVol, by Inagoni, for the engine flames.

The ship is a kit-bash of Nighshift3d's Gryphon with Cybertenko's Hunter-Killer Drone

The space background is from TheDigiVault

A fun look at using Alvin Bemar's Fluidos (original version) for Carrara to create our own "Stock Footage" within Carrara

We begin with the Fluidos scene in Carrara, render the result, head into PD Howler to turn it into Stock Footage, and composite it into a scene using HitFilm

My friend and colleague from Daz 3d, MAT Creator, asked if I could make a bit of a demonstration of this product.

It never made it into his Daz store. Maybe we'll see it on the web sometime. It's a really cool product!

Instead of subtitling, I used vocals in a song! :)

The results of one of Mike Moir's wonderfully fun Animation Club projects.

This one, made for Halloween, I had the pleasure of being a big part of the rendering department, some of the animation and effects, soundtrack and sounds as well as editing and production. Mike painted the face in the final frame - so cool!!! He's an awesome artist!

Mike also hosted some 10 second animation challenges.

I was always busy working on a movie that never actually came to be.

I did manage to take time off to enter this one and I'm glad I did.

It was a lot of fun!

The other 10 second challenge I've entered.

I did this one in two offerings, each with a tutorial video.

This one is the result of a raw render, straight from Carrara

...and this is the tutorial video for the 10 second animation challenge above.

This is the second part of the above challenge.

I did this one mainly to do a simple tutorial on one of the many ways that I work with PD Howler on my Carrara renders.

So I made a version of the same scene as viewed through cartoon binoculars :)

...and the video tutorial

Still one of my favorites is one of my first. There's an earlier video of mine on my YouTube channel that I made using Windows MovieMaker that worked with Windows XP.

This one was just the result of trying Sony Vegas Movie HD 30 day trial.

I had this pile of test renders that hadn't made their way to the recycle bin yet, so I edited them together to make this fun presentation. Rosie 4 really rocks!
